Q: What kinds of food do you deliver?
A: We deliver our delicious Caribbean prepared foods packaged for your convenience. These include curries, chokas, stews, roti (paratha and dhalpuri flatbreads), and doubles. We also deliver bottled condiments and spreads, snacks, and our breads.
Q: Can I order freshly-made food for delivery?
A: Yes. Under normal circumstances we have a few items available that are delivered not frozen. They include our flatbreads and pastry items. We will inform our customers as more and new products become available. NOTE: Due to the COVID19 pandemic we are only offering frozen products at this time.
Q: Can I place orders by phone or in person at the shop?
A: All orders are placed and paid for only on this website. This is an ecommerce service and is a separate operation from the Alima's store, so staff at the store cannot take orders or payments for this service.
Q: Where do you deliver?
A: At the moment we deliver to the Greater Toronto Area. As we are made aware of demand in other areas of southern Ontario we will add them to our service area. If you would like our service in your city, please leave us a message using the contact form on our Contact Us page.
Q: Do you deliver to apartments and condo buildings?
A: Yes. If you live in a multistory apartment or condo building please make sure someone is home during the day (after 11:00am) to receive your order. We will phone you before delivery to make sure someone is home, and again when we arrive. Please provide your buzzer number at checkout. If no one is home at the time of delivery the order will be returned to our location. A refund will be issued minus the delivery fee. NOTE: Due to the COVID19 pandemic, our drivers are delivering to buildings but not entering them. Customers who live in multistory buildings are required to come downstairs to meet their driver outside and pick up their order.
Q: Do you charge for delivery?
A: We charge a flat rate of $9.75 per delivery. This charge helps us with the cost of getting the product to you as well as the special packaging we use to keep your items cool.
Q: When do you deliver? Can I get my order right away?
A: We deliver on a fixed schedule, so it depends on where you're having your items delivered. See the schedule below for which day you can expect your delivery.
Q: How does OrderFromAlimas.ca gift card work?
When you go on the site you click on Products and from the menu select Gifts and Gift Cards. You can purchase a card for $10, $25, $50, $100, $200 or $300.
The Gift cards are digital, not physical.
They are delivered by email and contain instructions on how to redeem them at checkout.
When You Purchase A Gift Card It Will Come To Your Email Inbox.
You can forward the email to the person of your choice, and they can redeem the gift card online at www.orderFromAlimas.ca.
Q: DO GIFT CARDS HAVE AN EXPIRY DATE?
Gift cards, or any unused balance on cards, do not have an expiry date.
Q: CAN I LEAVE A BALANCE ON MY GIFT CARD?
Yes you can leave a balance on your card and redeem it at a later date. However you must remember the balance. You must also remember or store your gift card code, as this is assigned only to you. It is assigned by the system, without any of Alima’s employees having access to it. It is your responsibility to remember or store the code. We cannot redeem it for you.
Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF I LOSE MY GIFT CARD CODE?
You can retrieve the code from the original email.
Q:CAN I REDEEM THE GIFT CARD FOR CASH?
The gift card can be redeemed online only at www.orderfromalimas.ca
Q: CAN I REDEEM THE GIFT CARD IN THE STORE?
No. The OrderFromAlimas Gift card is a digital card that is recorded only on the OFA system. The gift card cannot be redeemed in the store; nor can it be redeemed on any other Alima’s platform.
Q: CAN I REDEEM MY GIFT CARD ON PICKUPALIMAS.CA?
A gift card issued on ORDERFROMALIMAS.CA can only be redeemed on that site. A Gift card purchased on PICKUPALIMAS.CA can be redeemed only on PICKUPALIMAS.CA.

Orders can be placed up to 12:00 pm on the day before the delivery day. For more information please see our Shipping page.
Q: How late can I order before delivery day?
A: We do have an order cutoff time for our weekly delivery day. Our order cutoff time is 12:00pm (noon) on the day BEFORE your delivery day. For example Mississauga's cut off is Monday at 12:00 pm, because they are part of Peel and get deliveries on Tuesdays (please see our Shipping page).
Q: How long will your products last in the freezer?
A: Frozen foods last at least three months in the freezer and potentially much longer, provided that the temperature inside the freezer is set at -18 Degrees Celsius or lower. At temperatures any warmer than -18C any frozen food will slowly decline in quality. The best way to ensure that your freezer is set at -18C or below is to use a fridge/freezer thermometer placed inside the freezer and adjust your freezer's settings until the temperature is reached.
Q: Are your foods halal?

Q: What time on my delivery day can I expect my delivery?
A: Deliveries will be made after 10:00a.m. until the evening, but usually not after 7:00p.m. except when we have a very high volume of orders.
Q: How do cancellations work? / How do I cancel my order?
A: To cancel your entire order or to part of your order please send us a message at: email@example.com . Please send your cancellation request by 12:00 p.m. the day before your delivery day. Any cancellations after that time will not be completed as the orders will be in the process of being packed.
